In Lyon, good films are not enough! Since Lyon is also the capital of gastronomy, the Lumière Film Festival and the restaurant Chabert et Fils invite you to a mâchon, a traditional feast that has become an essential element of the festival over the years.
Historically, Lyon's workers in the silk industry began their day at 4 am, so by 8 am, they were ready to sit down for a full meal. The early-morn ritual has endured in the city, and for this 16th edition, the Lumière Film Festival will again hold this highly anticipated public feast.

Many of you have waited patiently, and you can finally purchase seats! What better way to finish off the Lumière Film Festival than with a hearty meal in the early hours of the morning?
This Lyon culinary feast typically takes place right after dawn, in traditional Lyon restaurants that feature local specialties like cochonnaille or tripe, washed down with Beaujolais or Mâconnais wine!
This year, Lyon's famous “bouchon”, Chabert et Fils, will once again welcome all film lovers for the fabled “festival mâchon”, making sure to adhere to the golden rules of the custom.
